Chutneys

We only use wine or cider vinegar depending on the primary fruit in the chutney. Spirit vinegars are too harsh and can mask fruit flavours. We prepare our chutneys by taste so limiting salt and sugar levels. All three ingredients; sugar, vinegar and salt, are necessary to preserve the fruit or vegetables.

When making a new chutney one of the primary considerations is what it is to be eaten with, we want to enhance cheese, meats or sausages, not detract from them.

Chutneys are hand cut and usually made when the fruit is in season - therefore can be of limited availability depending on the weather!

All our chutneys have a high proportion of fruit or vegetables and we hope you will enjoy them as much as we do.
